You may arrange a special pickup for your pet on Sundays or holidays. Sunday and holiday pickups are offered from 5:00pm-6:00pm. and must be arranged and paid in advance. What will my pet’s stay be like?
We know there’s no place like home, but we want your pet’s stay with us to be a comfortable as possible! All dog kennels are indoors with heating/cooling and specially designed ventilation. Dogs can rest on rubberized platforms, and kennels are cleaned and disinfected twice daily. We feed Science Diet food. You are also welcome to bring your pet’s regular diet to be fed at no additional charge. Fresh water is kept available 24 hours a day. Our kennel attendants will walk and exercise your dog outside at least twice daily. If our kennel attendants have a concern about your dog’s health during their stay, they will alert the doctor. The doctor will then examine your pet and notify you of any problems. Dogs staying with us 5 nights or more will receive a complimentary bath before returning home.
Cats are housed separately from our canine guests. Cats can rest on rubberized kennel floor, and have access to a higher climbing shelf as well. We feed Science Diet food. You are also welcome to bring your pet’s regular diet to be fed at no additional charge. Fresh water and a litter pan are kept available 24 hours a day. If our kennel attendants have a concern about your cat’s health during their stay, they will alert the doctor. The doctor will then examine your pet and notify you of any problems. Our cat kennels are in a central area of the hospital, so our feline guests have lots of daily action to watch.
Can you care for my small animal?
Little pets can need a home away from home too! We can care for small mammals like rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, rats, and chinchillas. Because these type of pets’ needs can vary greatly, we ask that you bring along your pet’s home, bedding supplies, and proper food. Having these items from home will help them feel comfortable and secure. Our kennel attendants will clean your pet’s home twice daily and ensure a supply of fresh food, water and treats.
What about my pet’s medications or injections?
We can administer your pet’s medications while you are away. Medication/supplement administration is $3.50 per night. Insulin administration is available at $2.60 per treatment.
What should I bring for my pet?
Due to COVID-19 and to protect all families from additional threats like bed bugs, we ask that belongings brought from home be kept to a minimum. Please bring only food or medication needed by your pet. Leashes and carriers may be left at the hospital as usual. Beds, blankets and additional items cannot be accepted or stored at the hospital. We are happy to provide hospital blankets for your pet's comfort.. Cages, bedding supplies and food are still required for small animals.
We want your dog or cat to be our guest, so feel free to travel light! We provide stainless steel bowls your pet’s food and water. We feed Science Diet foods. You are also welcome to bring your pet’s regular diet to be fed at no additional charge. Any needed medication should be brought along with clear instructions for its administration. We are happy to provide a pet pad if you would like bedding for your pet. For your pet’s safety while not under direct supervision, we recommend only Nylabone or Kong toys for dogs. Any problem arising due to owner requested use of toys or pet pads (ie-pet eats item and becomes ill) will be cared for at the owner’s expense. Leashes and collars are removed in the kennels for safety, but may be left at the hospital so they are ready when it’s time to head home.
The needs of other small pets can vary greatly. For boarding of small pets such as rabbits or guinea pigs, we request that you bring along their home, bedding supplies and proper food.
What treatments are required for boarding pets?
For the protection of your pet, vaccines are required for all boarding dogs and cats. Pets must be in good health to enter the kennels. Dogs must show proof of current rabies, distemper-parvo, and bordetella (kennel cough) vaccinations, and an annual fecal parasite exam. For cats, we require rabies and distemper vaccinations and an annual fecal parasite exam. If your pet needs any treatments updated, they may be performed during your pet’s stay with us. Vaccinations are not required for rabbits, guinea pigs, or other rodents.
All pets entering the hospital will be checked for fleas. Any pet carrying live fleas will be treated with Capstar (approximately $7) before being admitted to the kennels.
Do I need a reservation?
Yes! Reservations are important to ensure an available space for your pet. Reservations may be made by calling 573-875-0907.

A deposit of 50% of boarding fees are due when making a holiday boarding reservation. This deposit will remain as a credit on your account, to be credited toward your pet’s stay. If your plans should change, holiday deposits are refundable up to 7 days prior to your arrival date.
